ABOUT COACHING WITH ELLEN

  ABOUT COACHING WITHE ELLEN

  • Have you struggled to recognized as a strategic partner and advisor within your organization?
  • Have you wondered what was holding you back from being viewed as a thought leader?
  • Do you know how you can be more influential?
  • Do you want to develop the mental fitness and resilience to have the agility and fortitude to effectively manage challenges even in the most turbulent times?

As a former corporate executive/ in-house attorney, when I was looking to earn a promotion into a senior role, I asked a lot of people and HR about how to stand out as a leader.  I was given a lot of advice but no practical hands-on training, mentoring or coaching.  Then, as a manager, I wanted to learn how I could create a customer-oriented department and develop the critical thinking skills of my direct reports so we could be serve as strategic partners and advisors to our clients.  We knew that earning that “seat at the table” was critical to being able to do our best work, support our clients and gain their respect and trust.  Unfortunately, again, I didn’t have any role models or mentors to help me.  My company did offer me a 4-hour course on leadership where I learned about different communication styles but any true skills to be a great leader or manager.

What I hear from my clients is that I am not alone in this experience.  Many organizations spend time cultivating and rewarding individual skills and contributions and then, when we get really good at our jobs, we get promoted into mangers.  In our new leadership role, we are expected to naturally know how to lead, motivate and coach despite having never been taught or trained to do so. When we struggle, often our bosses themselves don’t understand the components of successful leadership so they can’t really guide us.  They may say it’s about having influence, great communication skills or relationships.  They might tell you that you need to get better at these things but they themselves don’t know how to support your growth and development in mastering these essential skills since they weren’t trained themselves.  Understanding the elements of influence and leadership is very different from implementing and excelling as a leader.

Now as an executive coach with over 12+ years’ experience and expertise I help in-house attorneys & corporate executives across many industries and roles, get promoted, gain visibility and stand out, so they can increase their professional impact, build high performance & leadership skills, cultivate wellbeing & resiliency and get that coveted “seat at the table”.  I developed a proprietary neuroscience-based framework called the “5 Pillars of Influence” (Credibility-Leadership Presence-Identity-Mindset-Building Relationships -“C.L.I.M.B.”) specifically geared to address and guide my clients to achieve their goals. ‘

Additional coaching areas include employee development & engagement, communication skills, team building, corporate culture, emotional intelligence & career development.  My clients gain self-knowledge/perspectives, create goals, actions plans & strategic visions to become more effective & successful professionally & personally.

The results are clear, you will become a better leader, elevate your influence and cultivate resiliency to stand out and breakthrough to the next level in today’s workplace.  Additionally, my coaching can be quantified so that you can measure the success (ROI) of the engagement.

Here's what
our clients had to say...

Ellen was my coach to help me whenever I was at a crossroads in my career, or dealing with a business related situation that her coaching could help me gain greater perspective. Ellen always gave me the best guidance and inspiration when I needed it most! She also recommended relevant books to help me think through whatever issue I was dealing with. I strongly recommend Ellen as a professional/executive coach and would encourage anyone to work with her who is looking to enhance their potential.

Sumina, Marketing Director, and Life Coach

I cannot recommend Ellen enough for being instrumental in assisting me with my professional outlook and perspective. Ellen took me out of a 'rut' and placed my thoughts and self -esteem back onto a healthy, strong track. Ellen worked with me patiently and helped me realize things about myself that I had either lost, forgotten, or maybe had not seen. If you are looking for an extraordinary person to help you, spiritually, mentally even physically - I highly recommend her!

Jennifer R, Luxury Brand Manager

I want to give a big shout to Ellen, my amazing coach, who took me on a journey I was so far from expecting.  You asked me all the right questions (ones I never remotely thought of!) and you challenged me in a way nobody ever did. Change is never easy, but your dedication, compassion, and care, gave me the courage to always push myself further. There was life before coaching, and life after (which includes your voice in my head always asking questions!). Thank you for having made such a big difference in my life, for all the laughs and the tears, and for being so incredibly supportive!
